Aspasios Poblenou Apartments

I was a little wary because the recent reviews had been negative, but the apartment surprised me in a good way. It was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with a great location: one block from the metro and two or three blocks from a street full of great restaurants. We just got back and would definitely stay here again.

This was so disappointing. The photos didn’t show the apartment as it really was, in our opinion. After we finally got into the building, we used the online automated door system, which kept malfunctioning throughout our stay and felt like a security issue. Inside, none of the doors closed properly, the handles were coming off, and the apartment was filthy. Customer service were friendly and offered to send maintenance, which we accepted, but the place needs months of repairs. There was a constant sewer smell from the bathrooms, mould everywhere, and poor quality finishes and workmanship. The cot we’d requested was broken, so one of our children had to sleep in our bed the first night until it could be replaced. Not ideal after a long travel day. There were only six hangers in the two-bedroom apartment, and no draining board in the kitchen, so there was nowhere to put dishes after washing them. The floors, taps, walls, and sofa were all dirty. The kitchen bin was tiny and came with just one spare bag. The TV wasn’t smart and had no Netflix, so bring another device if you don’t want to watch local channels. The only good points were the nearby metro, supermarkets, and restaurants. Save your money and book somewhere better. The photos I tried to share of these problems were flagged and removed.

We were a group of 19 across four apartments. They were clean and spacious, with plenty of shops close by. The rooftop was small, but perfect for catching some sun on our first day. Staff were helpful and booked all our taxis in advance, which was hard to do otherwise. Would highly recommend staying here!

The neighborhood stays peaceful even with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and the metro and supermarkets are close too. Inside, the apartment matched its listing, was spotless, and had comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed. The staff were friendly, helpful, and reachable around the clock. Highly recommend it.
