Aspasios Urquinaona Apartments

Consumer Beware!!! The customer service was a huge disappointment during our week at Aspasios Urquinaona in Barcelona. We had two separate leaks, one in each bathroom, and one was so bad that water poured from the ceiling and made a huge mess. We couldn't use the bathrooms while the leaks were happening. One of them also knocked out the apartment's power. When I contacted customer service, they showed no urgency and didn't come until the next day. After checkout I asked what compensation might be offered for the problems. A manager said they understood and would help, but the percentage they eventually gave us was very small compared with what we'd paid. In an email, the manager then said they'd handled similar cases without offering compensation, essentially telling me to be satisfied with what I got. I replied that I wasn't, and haven't heard back in a month. We were extremely disappointed. I wouldn't recommend staying here, and would give zero stars if I could.

Contactless check-in was smooth and easy, and it's convenient for getting around the main sights in this busy city. We could walk everywhere. The apartment was very nice, though it could use some updating.

We were shown around the spacious three-bedroom apartment a few minutes after arriving and given a map with restaurant and activity suggestions. On departure day, we could leave our bags at their office one street away. The location was great, about a ten-minute walk from Placa Catalunya. Everything else had been cleaned well, but one shower still had sand left by the previous guests. We'd stay again.

We felt at home in this great apartment in a local area, within walking distance of the center. I stayed two nights with my two teenagers, and we'll definitely use it again, as well as Aspasios in other cities. I called from the airport to say we'd arrived in Barcelona, and a friendly man was waiting at the apartment when we got there. He took the time to explain everything, which made us feel very welcome.
