Aparthotel Augusta Barcelona

The way our complaint was dealt with left us feeling dismissed, and I wouldn’t stay here again. We asked about compensation after reporting the broken toilet, but were offered only a 5% refund, about £11. That felt far too little given that the room had no working toilet, and the response seemed rigid and driven by policy rather than a real attempt to put things right. I was there for one night with four friends, and the toilet didn’t work at all. Overnight, we had to make do and pour water down it by hand to flush. A functioning toilet is a basic requirement in a hotel room. We also found ants in the room and signs of mould in the bathroom, which added to the poor impression, even though they weren’t the main problem.

The rooms were clean, spacious, and good, and the breakfast was perfect. It’s a nice place to stay in Barcelona, about 100 meters from the metro and three stops from the center. I’d recommend it.

There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and bakeries nearby, and the Metro is easy to reach. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my four-night, five-day stay at Alarthotel Augusta. We did have a disappointing taxi ride to Parc Güell. My cousin booked it through the hotel, and the driver charged us 35 euros, though the fare should have been around 10-15 euros. I know that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. On our last day, we noticed ants around the terrace and sofa. The Italian receptionist on the morning shift and Devi, a lovely afternoon staff member, were attentive and quick to help when we raised concerns. Their kindness and efficiency stood out.

I really enjoyed my stay. It’s a very good place in a lovely location, close to Vicens House By Gaudi and Corgi Cafe.
