Barcelona Century Hotel

For what we paid, three nights felt like a fair deal. The hotel was clean and cosy, well located for walking to most major sights in under 30 minutes, but away from the busiest tourist areas. We liked that quieter feel. Getting there from the airport or city was easy, just one bus and a short walk. We were in room 105 on the first floor. There's a lift, though the stairs were easy enough. The reception team were a real bright spot, always smiling and welcoming when we came and went. When we accidentally locked the safe, someone came right up to sort it out. The room was small but laid out well, with plenty of space for our bags. It had a double bed, air conditioning and heating, and was warm when we checked in. We could open the windows for fresh air. There was also a hairdryer, shampoo, body wash and an empty mini fridge. The bathroom was modern and clean. A few things bothered us. The bed squeaked and was softer than we prefer, and the walls were thin enough that we heard people talking, coming back and shutting doors. Sometimes other doors closing sounded as if our door was opening. The doors didn't feel very secure, and there wasn't an inside latch that only locked from within. The TV wasn't much use to us, with very few channels and most in Spanish. Netflix, YouTube or Amazon Prime access would have been a nice improvement. Still, we'd consider staying again, especially for the friendly staff and reasonable price.
