Urbany Hostels Barcelona

We came with our football team for its annual tour. The hostel is well placed, the service was great, and we enjoyed the rooftop and terrace. The rooms are on the small side, which made getting ready a bit difficult. We also had two leaks: one in the bathroom, which staff repaired, and another that then showed up in the room itself.

The bed was uncomfortable, and the service made the stay even more disappointing. Staff were rude and unwelcoming throughout, with one particularly unfriendly and unhelpful person who had ear piercings. We were charged twice, but after we raised it, nobody made a real effort to help or refund the extra payment. I wouldn't recommend this hostel.

The rooftop was lovely, with a wide view of the city and sea. If you're planning to spend your days walking around Barcelona and only come back to sleep, it might work, but there are plenty of shortcomings. The beds are tiny, especially for anyone 6' 7", and you can't open the windows because of the fall risk. In the bathroom, the shower sometimes gave only cold water, and the water tasted strongly of chlorine. Meals varied, with breakfast the only consistently good one and dinner always awful.

The shower kept switching off every 30 seconds, so we had to press the button over and over. The room also lacked basic things: no hair dryer, no toilet brush, and no spare toilet paper. The carpeted floors looked poorly cleaned, and the general cleanliness was very bad.
