BBarcelona Guinardó Flat

The apartment was in terrible shape compared with the modern, clean photos on the website. We arrived late in the evening and sent several WhatsApp messages right away about serious problems. The only response was a promise that a team would come, but nobody showed up before we left. We couldn't use the blinds properly and had to raise them by hand. The furniture was cheap and damaged, and broken slats in the sofa beds even tore the bedding. The mattresses were so thin and uncomfortable that a decent night's sleep was out of the question. The toilet didn't work right, and water kept leaking from the shower onto the floor. The air conditioning was broken, with three old fans, one in each room, in its place. Noise from toilets and showers upstairs carried clearly into the apartment, especially at night and early in the morning. Dust was everywhere. The living room table was made of three wooden planks with food stuck between them, and the placemats were dirty and impossible to clean. The washing machine was filthy, and nails stuck out of the skirting boards between the tile and parquet flooring. Our child was hurt by them. The view from the window was bleak and nothing like the pictures. After our stay, I saw other reviews describing the same problems, which made it seem like nothing was being fixed. Then, a week and a half later, €300 was withheld from our deposit without warning. When I asked, they said a sofa leg was supposedly broken. That sofa was already wobbly when we arrived, and we hadn't even used it. This doesn't seem to be an isolated case. Based on the information we found, B Barcelona owns about 29 apartments, and reviews for almost all of them mention the same €300 charge and awful conditions. I hope Booking.com takes action. I book through Booking.com at least three or four times a year and have always been happy, but I've never been this disappointed. I hope they respond quickly and positively so future guests can be protected from this experience.

The location suited our needs perfectly. Buses stop just a few dozen meters away, and the metro isn't far either. The rest of the apartment could use some improvement.

A small apartment that was nice and clean.
