Caledonian Hotel

The large terrace was a real treat, and breakfast was perfect. The TV worked well, the linen was high quality, and the rain shower was excellent. The single room’s bed, though, was small. It’s time hotels got rid of single beds, honestly.

We had a terrace room on the sixth floor, where we could sunbathe on the lounger and enjoy the lovely city view. The room also had a large queen bed, a big shower, and a fridge, but no in-room tea or coffee setup. Free tea, without milk, was available downstairs at reception; coffee meant buying a pod for 1 Euro. Breakfast was really nice, with plenty of choice even though it was the same each day. The location is fantastic, near La Rambla and the tourist areas, with the metro, train, and bus stops within walking distance. The hop-on hop-off bus is a great way to see Barcelona. Taxis cost a lot, while the airport bus is much cheaper at around £7 each way per person. Its stop is about a seven-minute walk from the hotel. The staff were fantastic. Thanks to Judit and Melisa in the canteen for their hospitality, and to Antonia and Carles at reception for being kind and helpful.

A good value choice for tourists or business travelers, with a basic hotel in a great location. The cheerful staff kept everything scrupulously clean. My freshly decorated room, 608, had a huge terrace and breathtaking views. I’d suggest asking for a room on the sixth floor.

I couldn’t believe the price for such a great hotel. I stayed a few days, and everything was very clean. The quiet rooms were comfortable, well maintained, and cleaned every day. The location was amazing, with everything I wanted to do within walking distance. Highly recommend, and I’ll stay again.
