The room was clean, and the location is convenient, but I wouldn’t pick this hotel again if I return to Barcelona. On three of the four mornings we stayed, some breakfast items ran out early. When we asked for more, we were told it was finished and would be replenished the next day. It wasn’t refilled that day. At checkout, the front desk charged us an extra €20 on top of the city tax. After we objected, they reluctantly gave back only €10. That felt unprofessional and unpleasant.

I come to Barcelona often, so I’m leaving this note for my future self about which places to revisit and which to avoid. The location is great, and there was nothing wrong with the rooms, but I wouldn’t stay here again. It doesn’t really function like a proper hotel. It’s more like a B&B, with limited reception hours and no printer for a proper receipt, in a building where people live. I’d rather choose a regular hotel, hence the three stars.

The room matched the photos and everything was easy during our stay at Casa Balmes. We had a perfect time and will definitely come back. Muchas gracias!

Everything was spotless, and the mattress was super comfortable. The accommodations were perfect, with excellent service and a very good location.

We slept really well after being out all day, thanks to a comfy bed. Staff were polite and accommodating. There was hot water, clean towels, and a clean bathroom, though the shower layout was a bit odd. They also provided Rituals soap and other toiletries. The breakfast space was clean, and although the food wasn’t fancy, there was a good range, from fruit and fresh croissants to cold cuts. Since it’s a B&B rather than a high-end hotel, I found it a little pricey.
