Casa Mathilda

We were so glad my wife and I chose Casa Mathilda. The staff were friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with, and the hotel is right in the heart of Barcelona. We'd love to visit the city and stay here again.

The location is fantastic, central and close to metro and bus stops, with plenty of good cafes, shops, and restaurants around. I also appreciated the hotel's quality-over-quantity approach, which came through in the decor and breakfast. Breakfast suited me well, though it starts a little late if you have an early appointment. Coffee was great, available around the clock, and there was a good tea selection and a cookie jar for late-night cravings. The family-run hotel is tastefully designed, and the owner, I believe, and staff had a natural, homey feel. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and I couldn't have asked for better service.

Casa Mathilda is in a lovely historic building in a nice neighborhood, and the room was spacious and very clean. It's beautifully maintained and designed, with a pleasant breakfast area. The location worked perfectly for getting around on foot, including to Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, and placa de catalunya, and there's a metro station nearby for other places. The hosts and staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly. I had an amazing stay, would definitely return, and recommend it to anyone looking for a great stay in barcelona.

The room was nice, with high ceilings, and the shower pressure was good, though not great. The old manual elevator was a unique touch. Great location too. I'd recommend it and stay again.
