Casa Vilaró

The shared spaces are beautiful, but they’re quite worn and don’t seem big enough for so many guest rooms. Rooms in the basement are dark and damp if you don’t get one in the main house. In the main building, rooms are crammed with three or four beds, even in spaces that used to be the living and dining rooms. You might get one of the original spacious, stylish bathrooms, or you might end up with a small plywood cubicle in a corner. It’s a shame to see this once-amazing house in such condition. The building itself is remarkable, and its modern design is surprising for something built in the roaring twenties. It’s definitely worth visiting as a historic building. For staying overnight, I’d only recommend it to a group of young people or a school trip.

The rooms are decent, and there’s a big living room and a nice terrace with a view and outdoor seating. The pool area is nice too, and the woman who works there was really kind and helpful. It’s a different experience from a boring hotel room, so that could appeal. Still, for the price, I think you could find better accommodation.

We booked the villa as a team through Airbnb for a big event in Barcelona, and the process went smoothly. It’s a large, old-fashioned place about 150 meters from Guel park, built on the mountainside, so there are lots of stairs to keep in mind if that’s an issue. The rooms are huge, with two or three beds each, and there’s a shared kitchen and living room. The house dates from the 1930s and keeps its old style rather than being modernized. The kitchen has modern equipment, but most of the rest feels pretty authentic.

So dirty!!! This hirtorical building needs a lot of care. Please invest in it. Even the tree is growing into the wall. The place needs a full renovation.
