The huge terrace is lovely, though there’s no wifi out there. Downtown Hostel is colorful and clean, with great staff who recommended good places to eat and drink. A warm place to spend a few days in one of Europe’s most interesting cities.

Downtown Hostel Barcelona is a small, cozy place with nice colors and, above all, excellent staff. I stayed a couple of nights, and the simple rooms were clean. It’s just steps from La Rambla, which saves on transport, and the staff are available 24/7.

My double room was really clean and nice, and the place is affordable and well located near La Rambla and the metro. The downside was being close to reception. It got noisy, and the doorbell rang when guests came back at night, even though someone was at reception 24/7.
