Enjoybcn Plaza Catalunya Apartment

The apartment itself is clean and in a great spot, but at the prices they charge, I’d choose a hotel next time. They present it as a full-service stay, though it really isn’t. Getting the keys was a whole process: first walk about 10 minutes to another hard-to-find place, enter several codes, open hidden compartments, and follow clues from the landlord over WhatsApp. The TVs had been removed for some reason, the safe didn’t work, and the elevator was unreliable. The daytime doorman spent his time watching shows on his phone. There are no windows in the bedrooms, so air conditioning is essential. It stopped working on our last night, when it was over 40 degrees outside, and there was no on-call maintenance to help. Management heard about all these problems and blamed “Murphy’s Law,” saying nothing could be done. It’s a nice apartment, but shouldn’t be treated as a hotel substitute.

The view was amazing, and staying on La Rambla meant everything was close by. It’s a really nice apartment and I’d recommend it. Just remember that you have to collect the keys from their office first, which is maybe a 15-20 minute walk away.

I wasn’t staying at the hotel. I’d lost my group and couldn’t call them, so I popped in to ask if I could use the Wi-Fi briefly. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, a real class act. If that’s any indication, I imagine the rest of the hotel experience is excellent too.

The unit was just the right size for our family, and the location made it easy to walk to shopping, restaurants, and La Rambla. We’re already looking forward to coming back.
