We arrived from Barcelona airport around 10:30am, and Jeanne told us the apartment was already ready. That was a great start. It was a well-stocked two-bedroom, two-bathroom place, with enough equipment for us to cook all our meals comfortably. A good grocery store was about two blocks away, and there were lots of neighborhood restaurants. The Venue Steakhouse and Pepeta were marvelous. Sagrada Família was a 10-minute walk, and cabs were easy to find or reception could call one. The area felt like a real neighborhood, with people walking dogs and taking their kids to school. It wasn’t touristy at all. We did have a couple of personal gripes: the people upstairs were banging around very early twice, between 4 and 6am, as they got ready for early flights. I also don’t like hard beds, and ours was hard. That’s not unusual in Europe in my experience, so I ended up on the slightly softer couch.

The emergency number was useless. My apartment flooded at 2am, and I called for help. The first time, Jennifer answered; the second time, it was Ally. The apartment flooded twice, and neither time did they help. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone, only to be told they could send a letter to the emergency office and it could be dealt with in the morning. What’s the point of an emergency office if it can’t help during an emergency?

Andy made the stay especially enjoyable. He was friendly, knew the area well, answered our questions, and had extra recommendations for us. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment at Eric Vokel BCN suites, which was comfortable and had all the amenities ready. The welcome breakfast basket was a lovely touch.

We loved the breakfast basket waiting for us on our first morning, and the suites were cute and very clean. The location worked perfectly, close to both the subway and nearby amenities. Andy was polite, kind, and always ready to help.

We kept saying we wanted to come back. Andy, the concierge, was incredibly welcoming, kind, and helpful. Sagrada Familia was only a short walk away, and the apartment was spacious and comfortable for three of us, with two en suites. We heard almost no street or neighborhood noise, apart from some lively, fun conversations from a gathering at nearby homes.
