Factory Apartments Barcelona

The location is good, with interesting places within a 15 minute radius, but the apartment didn’t match the photos on Booking. We stayed in apartment 2. The smaller bedroom was more like a big closet, the sheets didn’t seem fresh or washed, and the place wasn’t very clean overall. Getting hot water was a lottery, and the toilet smelled really bad. It wasn’t worth 1000€ for seven nights.

The location was perfect, right in the centre, with main attractions within walking distance and Metro stations nearby. The apartment itself was a very different story. We booked a Standard 2 bedroom apartment with balcony, but stayed in apartment no.3, which looked nothing like the advertised photos. It was worn out, dirty, unsafe, uncomfortable, and poorly maintained and cleaned. The curtains were stained, the dining table was sticky, and a strong air freshener in the bathroom seemed to be masking a smell. The lift wasn’t working when we arrived or the next day, and getting up to the 6th floor, actually the 7th, was quite a challenge. The second “bedroom” was the size of a wardrobe, with its window facing the shaft. Our son was scared to sleep there. We felt misled and cheated by the difference between the listing and what we got. Not a great experience.

We had the apartment with a terrace, which was a lovely extra for enjoying the sunshine. It was in a brilliant location and had a nice level of comfort, with everything we needed to be self-sufficient while staying in Barcelona.

The apartment didn’t look like the pictures, and the customer service was a joke. Neither the office nor WhatsApp seemed to speak English, which made things difficult. The man at reception didn’t know a single word, so communication was impossible. WhatsApp replies were painfully slow, and they weren’t willing to help with our requests. Check-in and checkout were poor too. The beds were uncomfortable, and we woke with back pain every morning. Each bed had one pillow, and they were terrible quality. There was no cleaning service, so we had to clean ourselves. The air conditioning was bad and we sweated all night. When I called customer service, they told me to close the windows, loool. They’d promised I could store my luggage until 5:45 pm, then at checkout suddenly said it was only until 5 pm. I had to change my plans and reschedule with the driver picking us up for the airport. Completely unreliable. By far my worst stay in Barcelona. I’d never book with them again and wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone.
