Garden & Pool In Putxet

We found the duplex comfortable and well equipped, with a handy location near the metro and within walking distance of park Guell. It’s a complete apartment, though a bit worn. The kitchen cabinets need adjusting, the bathroom towel holders and water fixtures need tightening, and the pool could probably use resurfacing.

We were in Barcelona for three days of work and spent most of the time out, coming back late just to sleep. On the second day, construction in the same building kept us awake, so I messaged them through Booking about the noise and got no reply. I thought we’d just put up with it for one more day and leave. Instead, they kept our €400 deposit, saying we had made noise in the apartment. They also charged €60 for late check-in and added more taxes, even though at booking they said everything was included in the price. I tried calling after that, but they told me to email the owner. I did, and never got an answer. It feels like they scammed us.

The apartment was in poor shape: broken doors, no shower curtain, a sofa with a rip, and a lounge chair that had apparently been broken for two years. The staircase was dangerous and coming unglued, and the terrace doors wouldn’t lock anymore. I’d warn people against staying here. They kept our deposit, claiming we were making noise when we weren’t even there. There’s a microphone in the apartment, and when they hear you talking, they call and say neighbors complained, but that’s a lie. Other reviews describe many of the same problems we had.

Whenever we spend a weekend in Barcelona, I use these apartments as my benchmark. They’re great value, with a spacious garage. I have a large car, and they found a parking spot that fit it. The shared pool and garden are exceptional, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s a peaceful area, but there are still plenty of terraces and restaurants nearby.
