H10 Port Vell Hotel

My main complaint is that the rooms don’t block much sound. Street noise came through, and I could clearly hear the neighbors’ young child when they screamed, which they have every right to do. I’d still recommend the place and stay again. The location made it easy to get around: seconds from the harbour, minutes from the metro, about a 10 min walk to the gothic quarter, and not far from the beach. The area felt safe and clean, with plenty of restaurants close by. The hotel has useful services and someone available to help at any hour. Staff from reception to cleaning and restaurant were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was lovely, with healthy and local choices and real fresh juice. The rooms were spacious and well equipped, with high quality shampoo, hand wash and body wash. I liked the claim that the hotel runs only on renewable energy, though I hope it’s true.

The only drawback was weekend noise in the area, which seems mostly outside the hotel’s control. Otherwise, it’s a great base: everything is walkable, and the metro, restaurants and grocery shops are just a few minutes away. Rooms were modern, clean and attractive, with very good air conditioning, which matters in Barcelona. The staff were kind, breakfast was excellent, and the rooftop restaurant was nice, if perhaps overpriced.

I was in town for a company event, and this hotel was conveniently located for it. I liked being near the port and Gothic quarter, and the room was practical, with a window that opened. Water was left daily in glass bottles, which I appreciated. The breakfast choices were really good, and service from both the restaurant staff and reception was very good. One morning there was no hot water; the hotel apologized by sending a lovely dessert to the room. I’d definitely stay again.

The staff made everything easy, from advising what time to leave for the airport to arranging a taxi that arrived early. That was especially useful since rideshares in Spain can be hard to get or unreliable. They were friendly, helpful and accommodating throughout. The hotel has lots of thoughtful touches. At check-in I was offered coffee, then coffee, a cookie and water were brought to my room. They also let me check in early. Snacks like cookies, candy and apples were always available in the lobby. The bar and restaurant felt high-end, and I appreciated the toiletries bag in the room. The hotel itself is classy and welcoming. The marina is right across the street, and El Born and the Gothic Quarter are an easy walk away. They promote marina views, though I didn’t find mine especially impressive. It didn’t bother me, but it’s worth knowing. My stay was perfect, with excellent service and a fantastic location.
