Hey Lola Hostel

The room smell was so bad I wouldn’t book this hostel again. There was dirt and grime built up in the storage boxes, and the whole room smelled awful. Staff seemed to know about it, but they used scented sticks to cover the odor instead of cleaning the source. That felt ridiculous and lazy. The price was reasonable for the location, and the staff were nice and helpful, but cleanliness is a basic expectation.

We had a really good time here. The bathroom was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were lots of group activities. Staff were welcoming and explained everything clearly, without making it complicated. Their English was very good.

The kitchen was probably the best part: it was new, fully equipped, and easy to keep clean. There were plenty of free condiments and leftover food, plus two fridges with a decent amount of space. The beds were good too, and the shower and toilet were very clean and cleaned often. I liked the place overall, but the atmosphere felt a bit odd. I had a few nice conversations near the end, though most people seemed to keep to themselves and the common area didn’t really encourage chatting. The rooftop might be better, but it was nearly empty. A few people played loud music or videos on speakers in the common area and kitchen. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, so for video calls you’d need a hotspot, which isn’t always great even on 5G, or a cafe. There was some street noise, but the windows blocked most of it when closed. Then the room got a little stuffy by morning.

I loved staying here. The rooms, bathrooms, and other areas were comfortable and clean, and the staff were always kind and ready to help. This was only my second hostel stay, but it was better than I expected. It’s near the Metro and bus, and many must-see sights are about 20 to 30 minutes away. I’d absolutely recommend it and hope I can come back soon. I’d stay here again for sure.
