Hostal Aribau

We booked months ahead, but when we arrived nobody was there to let us in, and there had been no communication from the property. I couldn't find any phone number, email, or other way to reach them. We had to pay for another hotel, and now they won't refund us, even though they never intended to let us stay. This was horrible. Don't book here.

The host and hostess were so friendly and helpful, and made the stay really memorable. The rooms were wonderful and very comfortable. I'd strongly recommend this place to visitors to Barcelona, especially for the reasonable prices.

I had a really good experience, and would recommend it for a short visit. It's a modest hostel, not really hotel-like, but comfortable enough even for families staying briefly. The staff didn't speak English, but they made an effort to explain things clearly in Spanish or Catalunian and help my wife, child, and me feel at ease. The gentleman on the night shift even helped us with the kitchen. There's an oven in the shared kitchen, and the in-room coffee machine and coffee basket let us make coffee or tea ourselves. The thoughtful little touches stood out. My room faced a busy street, but I didn't find it noisy. They had even left earplugs in case the sound bothered us. The basics were all covered: towels, Wi-Fi, a clean bathroom, bed and linens, free drinking water and coffee, and card payments. There are lots of shops, restaurants, and bars nearby. It's well connected to the city and airport, with fairly easy routes to Pl. Tibidabo, Pl espanya, pl catalunya, La Ramblas and more. My rating is about 3.5.

Just like the photos, and there was everything we needed. The apartment was perfect and clean.
