Hostal BruStar Gotic

The location is great, just a few meters from the Arc de Triomphe and close to metro and bus stops, supermarkets, and bars. Prices felt average for what they offer. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, though, and the rooms were pretty dusty. There was mold in the bathroom.

A small hostel just across from the Arc de Triomf and close to the gotic district. It has 7-8 rooms with TVs, air conditioning, electric kettles, and so on. They clean the rooms every day at 12:00 A.M.

The room had air conditioning, and the location was fairly central, but that was about it for positives. The staff were extremely unfriendly. My room was dark and looked into an inner courtyard where people could easily see inside. Thin walls meant I kept waking up from the noise, the windows barely shut, and a big gap under the door made it impossible to get the room properly dark. I can’t recommend this hotel. It was my first stay here, and thankfully it’ll be my last.

The location was fantastic, with tapas bars, cafes, supermarkets, and public transport close by. Seeing the Arc de Triomf right outside was a real highlight. The room, though, had little natural light and felt stuffy, with a noticeable musty smell. Cleanliness was below par: the sheets looked clean but had visible stains, and dust had built up in places. I often woke from the squeaky doors near my room by the elevator. My neighbors found a bug in their room and couldn’t get help because no one was available at reception. When I asked for an extra towel, the staff weren’t very accommodating. The location is a strong point, but there’s quite a bit that could be improved.
