Hostal Lima

The manager's son stayed until 1 am to get our room ready for us, and on our final day the staff looked after our bags until midnight after checkout. They were kind and committed throughout. The hostel was peaceful, our room was clean and tidy, and it had a private bathroom and toilet. It's well placed in the city center, near historic sights and fairly close to the beach. We didn't need buses or taxis, though the bus stops are nearby. I had read some bad reviews and expected the worst, but the place was much better than I imagined. For the low price, I don't know what some people expected from a hostel. It doesn't have the facilities of a fully equipped hotel, but with this kind of hospitality, I think it has a bright future. I'll gladly return on a future trip to Barcelona. 🙏💐🏖🏰🚍😍👍🥰

The bathroom had almost no room, and the room itself felt too cramped and looked dirty. Then a huge cockroach came out of the shower while I was in there. After that, we couldn't stay, so we left the room we'd paid for. There was no way we were sleeping there.

The walls are incredibly thin, and our room was cold in early spring, even though that cooler feel would probably be welcome in summer. Those were the only real drawbacks. The location is hard to beat, right beside Rambla and the Barcelona Cathedral, and the prices are very cheap. The room was clean and cleaned every day, and the staff were surprisingly professional. Great stay, I'd pick it again nine times out of ten.

The building felt like staying at your great aunt's place for the weekend, though you could call it authentic. It's a floor in a residential building, and hardly anything worked. The location is great, just a minute from plaza de catalunya, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan to spend as little time indoors as possible.
