The location is great and the room was clean, but the indoor room I booked, since I couldn't find one with a balcony, wasn't what I expected. The listing didn't give much detail, and I hadn't expected small windows facing straight into other indoor windows. The AC made a strange noise, so I couldn't sleep the first night. The next night I had to turn it off completely using the system. If you're visiting in hot weather, I wouldn't recommend staying here unless the AC gets fixed. The receptionist said he'd call a handyman, but it wasn't clear that he actually did.

The area is busy, loud, and full of energy, with shops and great restaurants all around. We liked being right in the heart of the El Raval, Gothic Quarter district for our few days in Barcelona. It's a great base if you want to be in the middle of everything. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and we especially liked Ashim. He chatted with us and shared great local recs, which made our visit feel special. Our room was small but very clean, and I appreciated having a bathroom and balcony of our own. They have a water fill station, coffee, tea, and a computer room. Check-in and checkout were accommodating, and they'll store your bags before or after if needed. Reception is staffed around the clock and keeps your key when you head out, so you don't lose it. The downside is the noise. The walls are thin, and you can hear other guests and sounds from the courtyard. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay in Barcelona.

I saw the cleaning staff rushing from room to room. It looked like there weren't enough of them, or that they were paid very badly. That's unacceptable. They should have fair working conditions and fair pay, especially for such hard jobs. I won't support exploitation.

The room and bathroom were very clean, and the air conditioning worked fine. We paid €322 for two nights. Our triple room had three beds and looked out over the Plaza, with a nice little balcony on the second floor. The hotel is just off the Ramblas, about a two-minute walk from Metro Liceu and eight minutes on foot from Plaza Catalunya, which was ideal for us.

Hotel Ramos sits right in the heart of las ramblas, a really good location. I had a spacious, airy room with a small balcony where I could watch the world go by. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the front desk is staffed 24/7. WiFi access is through a QR code, which worked fine on my phone but not on my laptop, useful to know if you need to work.
