Hotel Concordia

The receptionists were approachable and really nice, and getting around was easy, with buses and a metro station nearby and the center under a 20-minute walk away. Our stay was okay, though the room needs attention. There were marks on the mirrors and walls, plus hair and dust on the floor when we arrived. You could also hear people outside, in the hallway, and in neighboring rooms, since it wasn't soundproof. The bathtub wasn't really usable for bathing, so it functioned as a shower. Better cleaning and some facility improvements would make a big difference.

The staff were the part that made this Barcelona stay especially enjoyable. Everyone was warm, professional, and quick to help, with local suggestions and a smile whenever we came through. Our room was modern, spacious, spotless, and quiet, a comfortable place to come back to after sightseeing. We also liked relaxing on the outdoor terrace by the pool. Breakfast was another highlight, with lots of fresh, nicely presented choices to start the day. The location on Avinguda del Paral·lel was very convenient: Poble Sec metro station is just steps away, and restaurants and local spots were an easy walk. I'd happily recommend Hotel Concordia Barcelona for the service, breakfast, and location.

The hotel had a pleasant atmosphere and an excellent location, but the poor soundproofing really affected my comfort. The walls were so thin I could hear practically everything from nearby rooms, even people using the bathroom. I was also disappointed that I couldn't extend checkout by even an hour, including as a paid option. Being asked to check again in the morning didn't help, since the point was to sleep in instead of getting up early to ask. I came away with mixed feelings.

We paid €270 a night and were put in a smoking room. The shower leaked and left the bathroom floor flooded, and one of the beds was old and much too soft. Construction noise woke us every morning at 8:30 a.m. We told the reception staff we were unhappy. Thank you.
