Room 508 faced the street but was quiet. It had plenty of space, though the bed felt a little small for someone tall. Toiletries were provided, but there was no complimentary water. The staff were friendly and everything went smoothly. The location was excellent, about 5 minutes from Arc de Triomf and under 15 minutes from Sagrada Família. The beach, La Rambla, and the Gothic Quarter were all walkable.

The rooftop pool and terrace were a nice place to unwind after sightseeing, with a view over the Barcelona skyline. It’s not a large pool, but a welcome extra. Hotel ILUNION Auditori is in the Eixample district, about a 5-10 minute walk from the Arc de Triomf metro and train station. The neighborhood feels relaxed and local, away from the busiest tourist core, while still making it easy to get around. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and practical for the price, with air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges. They’re modern, though not especially fancy; some guests may find the decor basic or a bit like a business hotel. Breakfast is served daily, usually for an extra fee, with a good range of continental Spanish options that’s handy before a full day out. Service was generally friendly and helpful, though people’s experiences varied. Some guests were very happy with the staff, while others mentioned room problems or booking misunderstandings. It’s a dependable mid-range choice for a comfortable stay without fuss.

The staff were polite and helpful, and they’ll store your luggage after checkout, which is handy if you have a late flight and want to keep exploring. The room and bathroom were a decent size for Barcelona, with enough space to move around. The AC worked well, the curtains kept the light out, and the room faced the inner courtyard, so outside noise was mostly blocked. There were still occasional doors slamming inside. It was budget-friendly compared with nearby hotels. There was a kettle with two teas and instant coffee, plus a mini fridge, though we didn’t test whether it worked. The bed was the biggest problem. The mattress was so stiff it felt like sleeping on a plank, and the four flat pillows were miserable. If you sleep on your side or have curves, joints, or bones, good luck. The hotel looked clean, but the bathroom grout, mildew, water stains, and scuffed floor made it feel worn. There weren’t any tissues, so bring your own or use toilet paper. The bathroom supplies were a 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash that also served as hand soap. No conditioner, and they might not refill it when it runs out, so by the third night you could be out. If you’re on a budget, want a quiet room facing the courtyard, and can sleep on a very hard mattress, it might work. For me, it ranks among the three most uncomfortable mattresses I’ve dealt with. Otherwise, maybe stay one night, take a selfie for the “I survived” club, and move on.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the location was excellent, close to the main attractions. My room was modern and clean, with housekeeping each day. Breakfast was very good. I’d recommend it.
