Líbere Barcelona Sant Antoni

For what Barcelona accommodation usually costs, we felt this was good value. The location worked well too, with a train station nearby that can take you to most parts of the city. We had a suite with a stove, microwave, coffee machine, fridge-freezer and washer-dryer. It was fairly small and didn’t have a proper sitting area, so I’d suggest the full apartment if you want a more home-like setup. Guests can also use the rooftop terrace, which was a nice place to relax when the weather was good. The main problem was the sewage smell when we first arrived. Guest services responded quickly, came to check it, treated the smell and left a fan, which helped. They thought it was the general odor coming through the vents after the rain the day before. It rained again during our stay, though, and the smell returned whenever the fan switched on. Opening the windows and running the fan they provided helped. It wasn’t really Libere’s fault, but it still took away from our stay.

The apartment was clean, in an ideal location, and the staff were really friendly. We liked our stay enough that we’d consider booking again, especially for the good value. A couple of things made the room less comfortable. The bedroom windows looked onto an interior atrium, so it felt stuffy, and we could hear people entering the hotel. The bathroom door was flimsy and swung open by itself a few times while someone was showering. Sound carried badly between the bathroom and bedroom too. Unless you’re close friends, that could get SUPER uncomfortable. We tried to use the ground-floor luggage room, but all the lockers were full. There are plenty of nearby places to leave your bags, though, so it wasn’t a major problem.

The room was clean, cozy and really nice, and the rooftop was one of my favorite parts of the stay. I also liked how modern and automated everything felt. The doors open electronically, which made getting around easy, and there are lockers for bags before check-in or after check-out. The air conditioning was pretty weak. Because of that, I’m not sure I’d choose to stay here again, even though the experience was good overall.

The location made getting around easy. La rambla was only a short walk away, bus and metro stops were very close, and there’s a 24-hour convenience store right across the street for anything extra we needed. Our studio with a balcony was great, very clean and set up with everything we needed for four nights. The reception isn’t staffed, but the 24-hour WhatsApp support was more than enough, with quick replies whenever we had a question.
