The apartment is managed through a real estate agency, and the welcome felt very impersonal. I was sorry for the owner, because this isn't how guests should be received. They offered an airport transfer when we left to make up for the poor welcome, but I still regret choosing the place. Before arrival, they asked three times for my and my husband's personal documents and for our address, even though we'd already given the information to booking.com. It left me worrying someone might come back to an empty house. Then, in the middle of the night, the entry code failed and we waited almost an hour for someone to open the building door. The elevator was out for a day, which was unpleasant on the fifth floor. The bed and mattress shifted around, leaving a gap, and we slept badly. There was a spider on the bathroom mirror, the bathtub was rusty and patched with paint, and there was some mold on the bathroom curtains. The price changed after the initial quote. I also had to pay a damage waiver. If I had paid the €300 guarantee, I was told I'd wait up to 14 days for a refund and wouldn't get all of it back because of a €6 tax. City tax was added too. I understand the city tax, but none of this was explained before I paid the rent or listed in the description.

Not good.

There was plenty of room for a family or two couples, with a king-size bed in one bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living room. The apartment also had a kitchenette with an induction hob, fridge, microwave, washing machine, and coffee maker. They supplied coffee capsules, laundry caps, and dishwashing items. The bathroom was spacious, with a large shower. A charming place with what you need.

We chose Carrer de San Pau 47 because it was close to La Rambla, but arriving was a very unpleasant experience. The room looked nothing like the photos. Its sofa bed had a sagging base and an uncomfortable mattress, the curtains let light through, and the bathroom was tiny. I wouldn't recommend it to my family or anyone else.
