Majestic Residence

The residence was well maintained and shared amenities with the hotel. Its balcony had amazing views of the Sagrada Familia and many other sites. The location on the passeig de gracia was great, central to many of the best historic sites and the best shopping.

The extra bed turned into an unexpected charge, even though nobody asked us whether we wanted it. We also got a note saying to leave an hour before the checkout time in our confirmed booking, with no explanation. Housekeeping was another issue: Booking.com had led us to think it was included, but when we asked reception about it, one employee was smug, condescending, and dismissive, as if the question was stupid. The apartment was filthy, nowhere near the luxury standard advertised, and looked as though it hadn’t been properly cleaned in weeks. Getting help was just as bad. Our messages and calls went unanswered, so we had to sort things out ourselves. The staff’s attitude, the misleading information, and the charges made the whole place feel like a rip-off. A complete trainwreck from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The apartments were beautiful and the service was excellent. Friends recommended Majestic luxury apartments in Barcelona, and I’m glad they did. We’d just moved from the US with our family, and the staff made those first weeks in the city much easier. We’re truly grateful.

We’ve stayed in luxury hotels all over the world, and this one didn’t measure up. It seems they’re relying on their reputation to bring in guests and have let the little details that built that reputation slide. We cancelled our second night and moved to the Claris.
