Mayerling Bisbe Urquinaona

Our top-floor apartment had lovely views over the city and even the sea, and it was very spacious compared with other aparthotels. It had all the facilities we needed, and the reception staff were friendly. The location was the best part: we stayed three nights and could walk to almost everything. A few floor tiles weren’t in great shape, but that barely mattered to us. We enjoyed the stay and the city.

The apartment and location were fine, and for the price the stay was okay, though it could have been cleaner. The serious problem was the €100 deposit refund. It took more than a month, many calls and emails, and help from Booking before I got the money back. They first said they’d refund the card used for payment, but that didn’t work, even after we provided two cards. Then they asked for bank details, but still didn’t send the transfer. I contacted Booking at least five or six times, and only after its finance department escalated the matter did the hotel make a transfer. That was wrong too, so we had to chase them again to correct it. I don’t understand why this was so difficult. Refunding a card or making a bank transfer should be simple. They can do better.

Great value for the money, and the location is perfect.

We had a wonderful weekend as three guests. The apartment was spacious, with two bathrooms and a kitchen that had all the big and small appliances we needed. The receptionist was very kind, and the location was ideal, with the metro right outside, shops nearby, and La Rambla a 10-minute walk away. Barcelona was beautiful, and it was my first visit. If I return, I’d definitely stay at Mayerling Bisbe again.
