Mellow Apartments

We love this apartment and have stayed here twice, including three years ago. It’s very close to Sagrada, clean, big, and spacious. A great private place to stay if you want room to spread out. I highly recommend it.

The balcony was a nice feature. I could sit out there and look down at Barcelona’s beautiful streets. I stayed with my uncle, my mum, and little brother. The apartment was comfortable, with quite comfy beds and a modern bathroom. Public transport was easy to reach, and it’s only a 10-minute walk to the sagrada familia. The neighbours were so loud at night that sleeping was hard. Mornings were noisy too, since the apartment faces a school and traffic gets bad around 8 o clock, with motorbikes and cars beeping. There was only one mirror, in the bathroom, and I think a full-length one is needed. The person I think owns the appartments charged us €30 for cleaning but didn’t clean while we were away, saying he’d only do it after checkout. Still, it’s great for the price if you’re on a budget, and I’d love to stay again.

We had just one key for seven guests and only four towels. The shower leaked so badly it turned the bathroom into a pool, and the owner didn’t give us the wifi information. The AC was no help, and I sweated into the sheets both nights. The shutter door was broken and kept me from sleeping. Wish I could give it zero. Absolutely terrible. DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE.

We’re in the second apartment they showed us now. The first one was filthy, so they moved us, and the replacement was an improvement, but still in poor repair. There’s a shower-room leak with water coming through the ceiling, so our two-day break has been disrupted by maintenance problems and poor cleaning. Mellow apartments are quite big and cheap, in a fairly good area with easy access to restaurants and bars. But they’re dumps, and I’d never stay with them again. Customer service is borderline contempt. Save yourself the stress and stay somewhere else. The one star is only because I had to give one, not because they deserve it.
