My Address in Barcelona Downtown

The apartment itself was spacious, and the beds were comfortable. That was about all that went well. The toaster was broken, the bathroom door wouldn't close, the toilet seat was damaged, the safe didn't work, and the curtains were far too long, with about two metres of fabric dragging on the floor. The area felt run-down, and there were five dead cockroaches in the entrance vestibule. We were on the fourth floor. For two days the elevator sounded as if it might drop, then it stopped working for the rest of our stay. We also found old food in the fridge, an unclean floor, a full dishwasher, and blood smears on the bathroom window, hallway walls, and living room coffee table. Despite that, the man who showed us to the apartment demanded payment for cleaning after our stay. The address we were first given was wrong. When we arrived, nobody was there. Someone said they'd come in five minutes, though they hadn't expected us, despite our written confirmation of the arrival date and time three days earlier. Twenty minutes later a man turned up and said we were actually staying somewhere else, another ten minutes away, so we had to carry our bags there. I paid for better than this. Maybe that sounds hard to believe, or like the complaint of a disgruntled guest, but I can post photos if you're thinking of staying here. I gave one star because I couldn't give less.
