Park Hotel Barcelona

Early check-in and late check-out were possible, and the location is the hotel’s best feature. Beyond that, it only meets the bare minimum. Cleanliness was poor: there was hair on the floor, the shower was dirty, and the blinds were dusty. The place needs renovation, with lots of old, deteriorating things. The showerhead was detached, the wall paint was peeling, and closing the automatic blinds somehow made the air conditioning turn on by itself. At 10 am, hammering from the floor above kept me from sleeping. Unacceptable.

Apart from the location, nothing was worth the money. I was charged twice, and €50 was stolen by staff. The hotel manager said he didn’t believe his staff would do that, but didn’t even know when it happened or which housekeeper was working that day. The pool they claim to have only operates in summer. My room was dirty, the lobby was always dusty, and the doors were so thin you could hear everything from the floor and outside. Just stay at a hostel and save your money.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the reception stays open around the clock, which is useful if you arrive late. My renovated room was nicely located and had towels, shampoo, and soap. The air conditioning could be set for either warm or cool air.

The location was great, but I wouldn't stay here again. The front desk wouldn't hold our luggage, the shower had visible mold, and the room fridge was broken. I was also surprised to be charged for the coffee in the room. At checkout, there's a 10€ tourist fee to pay. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this stay was a real letdown.
