Pensión Arosa - Barcelona

The rooms are falling apart and full of roaches. I had to kill them with a shoe. While we were going into our room, some random guy walked to the shared bathroom in his boxers. The staff barely spoke any English or Spanish, and I couldn’t sleep because the only thing cooling the room was a fan. A horrible experience!

The host was friendly, and I found the simple room clean and comfortable. It was sparsely decorated, with only single beds, but the price was great and the location is almost unbeatable. There are just two toilets, but that never caused me a problem during my stay. There’s no air conditioning. That was fine during my December visit, but I’m not sure how it would feel in July, especially since the rooms face one of Barcelona’s busiest shopping streets.

The location is good, and the rooms are clean, though they have only the bare minimum.

I booked this at the last minute, mainly because location mattered most. The room was clean and fine, about what you’d expect for the price. The shared shower was okay, though not ideal, and naturally didn’t feel as clean since everyone uses it. From what I saw, someone came in daily to clean the rooms and toilet, which seems fair. If you want a cheap place and aren’t too fussy about noise or bathroom cleanliness, the location is great.
