My private single room had its own bathroom, a little balcony with live plants, and a TV with a remote. I could also ask reception for a hair dryer, and there was a small fridge there for a few things, which came in handy. For the price, I was honestly surprised by how good the stay at Le Portugal was. The room was clean and well kept, and the bed was much more comfortable than I expected. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. They even suggested some nearby dinner spots. It was mostly quiet, and they provide free earplugs for light sleepers. The location is central, close to the water, and convenient for public transport. Finding the entrance was the one real hassle. I walked past three or four times before noticing the small sign. It would help to have clearer signage. There are several stairs and no elevator, so it may not suit people with mobility or accessibility needs. The room had regular outlets but no USB ports, which could be a nice addition. Still, I was very happy with my stay and would come back. Great value for money, and a really pleasant visit.

I slept really well every night, and the bed was one of the best parts of my stay at Hostal Portugal BCN. Even with such a central spot, the hostel was quiet and peaceful. It's also well placed for getting around Barcelona's main sights on foot. After a long trip, the quick, simple check-in made it easy to settle in without stress. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and convenience at a good price.

The room was spacious, with a nice balcony looking out onto the street, and the bathroom was okay. The staff at Hostal Portugal were polite, friendly, and helpful. It's close to a metro station and only a few minutes from the old Gothic part of the city, with plenty to wander around and see, including Royal Square, Cathedra, and the narrow streets. There are a few breakfast places right nearby, like Beirut or 'Fleca for de pa'. I really enjoyed staying here.

The location is great, but the shower and water tap in the room were very basic. The city tax was €7.50, which felt like a lot for what you get, and I think they should charge less. The booking information said €5.50, but they charged €7.50. I understand the minimum is €6.
