Sunotel Junior Hotel

The food was awful: low quality, badly prepared, and not worth the money. It felt cheap and careless. The staff also tried to add charges for things we hadn’t agreed to, seemingly hoping we wouldn’t notice. That felt dishonest and unacceptable. Instead of enjoying our stay, we were stressed out checking bills and arguing about unfair charges. The service was very poor, the food was bad, and I didn’t trust how we were treated. Staying at Sunhotel Junior was a complete mistake. I strongly do not recommend it. Avoid it.

I couldn’t sleep here. You have to walk through a basement to reach the back of this abandoned-looking hotel. The room was tiny, dark, and dated, the bed was uncomfortable, and you could hear everything happening in the other rooms. Even the TV was set against a piece of plywood. One of the worst hotel rooms I’ve had in a long time.

The price didn’t feel justified by the experience, and I wouldn’t stay at Sunhotel Junior again. For a night or two, this place might be fine, but at this price I think there are better options. There were some nice touches: the room was a decent size for the cost, and the welcome card and bottle of water were cute. The central location was handy too, with the metro and several cafes and bars nearby. A few things made the stay uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi name on the room card couldn’t be found, and I couldn’t see anything similar to connect to. The hot water was only lukewarm at night. I tried again around 10 the next morning, and it was just a little warmer. I’d wondered if it was because people in Spain shower in the morning, but that didn’t seem to explain it. After that morning shower, someone knocked. I said I was coming, then they knocked again while I was quickly getting dressed. When I opened the door no one was there. A staff member then appeared and asked if I needed anything, though I was just in my room getting ready to check out. That was unpleasant. Sunotel junior was being renovated, so I had to pass through Sunotel Aston. I didn’t mind that part, but the connecting corridor was long and winding, and the elevator felt scary: it jolted up and dropped hard whenever it arrived. I don’t usually leave negative comments, but this stay surprised me in both good and bad ways.
