Hotel Praktik Bakery

I loved the location and the bakery, and would happily stay here again. You can walk to Sagrada Familiar, the Gothic Quarter, and other main sights; the metro is very close too, and the area felt clean and safe. The rooms worked well for a couple of nights. The shower was huge, and I eventually found the full-length mirror in the sliding door. The air conditioning was very poor. Turning it down made no difference, so it didn't seem to be centrally set. The buffet breakfast wasn't worth even 12.50 per person. We spent less at the bakery on coffee, cake, a sandwich, and yoghurt, and everything was amazing.

The staff were helpful and the location was great, so it felt worth the price. But the room was so small that there was nowhere to open suitcases, and no space by the sink for toiletries. It made getting ready each day with my friend pretty difficult. An iron and a mini fridge would've been nice additions, too. The website mentions an outdoor terrace, though what we found was a side room beside the bakery with an open ceiling. I had an exterior room, but the view was just other apartments.

The location is amazing, and the bakery has nice things, though it's a little pricey. I was disappointed when we first saw our room. I'd expected the promised nice exterior balcony view, but it faced the back of the hotel, looking onto buildings and an outdoor children's parking/play area. They told me the hotel was fully booked that night and that we could change rooms the next day. My husband and I stayed put because reorganizing and moving all our things the following day felt like too much work, even though I'd been looking forward to that nice view.

We booked a Family room for three nights in Barcelona and really liked the hotel. It consisted of two decent-sized rooms joined by a small entrance hall, with the bathroom sink in that entrance. The bed was comfortable, the shower was very good, and the amenities were good quality. The bakery downstairs smelled of fresh bread every morning and was amazing. It had snacks and meals too, including poke bowls, salads, and yoghurts. We tried the hotel breakfast, but preferred the bakery unless you're after a large breakfast. The location is very convenient, right off Passeig de Gracia and two blocks from La Pedrera/Casa Milá. Happy to recommend it.
