Primavera Hostel

The building the hostel is in is beautiful, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Verdaguer metro station is close by for quick trips, while La Sagrada Família is under a 10-minute walk and the gothic quarter about 20 minutes on foot. We had a wonderful long weekend in Barcelona. The staff were all so friendly, and the other guests were polite, considerate, and friendly too. I'd definitely come back.

A heads-up if you're particular about pillows: I'd bring your own. They provide a bunch of decorative cushions, but the sleeping pillows are a bit small. We had a great eight-day stay, though. The staff were amazing, and the hostel is super cute, with little balconies that were perfect for an evening glass of wine. Breakfast was set out in the lovely kitchen each morning and cost only 4 euro. If your room doesn't have a bathroom, there are several other bathrooms for guests, with nice showers.

We felt very at home here, and the staff were really friendly. The kitchen is lovely and well equipped, and having a refrigerator in both the kitchen and our room made cooking especially convenient. The rooms and shared spaces were furnished with a lot of care. Everything was clean, and the common areas were cleaned every day. I can recommend this hostel.

We chose to cancel as soon as we arrived and didn't spend a single night here. We were a family, and the receptionist's manner felt rude, hostile, and dismissive. There was no effort to help us or show basic hospitality, and we came away feeling very unwelcome. While we waited outside, a loud and aggressive incident happened right by the entrance. It seemed to involve a domestic dispute or possibly a prostitute and pimp, though I can't say exactly what it was. It was disturbing, made the area feel unsafe for our family, and added to our discomfort. Between that situation and the way reception treated us, we didn't feel safe or welcome enough to stay. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend the hostel, especially for families or anyone expecting a welcoming reception or a sense of security.
