Ramblas Budget Apartments

The breakfast was delicious, with a good choice of things, and the orange juicer made fresh juice while you waited. We stayed two nights and found the rooms basic but clean. Being on the top floor meant we had no noise issues. Getting in and checking out was easy, and the staff spoke English. The location was awesome, with the metro, Gothic Quarter, and lots of restaurants an easy walk away. Great stay for the price and location, and I had the best granola I've ever tried.

The entrance is understated and took us a couple of tries to find, partly because some of the frontage was under construction in Jan 2025. The reception staff spoke English very well and were helpful. Our interior room was what we'd expected, tiny and rustic, but clean and functional. In my opinion, it's perfect for a few days before or after a cruise.

Breakfast had plenty of choice, including lactose-free milk, granola, several good yogurts, jamon and cheese, coffee, and freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the sound insulation was good even in the city centre. My small ensuite room had no proper window, just a view of the building wall, but it was decent, comfortable, and clean. The central location was great, crowded but lively and felt safe, with monuments and public transport close by. I'll book the same hotel when I come back to Barca.

The room was cleaned every day, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast tasted good, though the choice wasn't very varied. The hotel's location is excellent and convenient for getting around. What made it hard to rest, especially at night, was the noise. Even on the 4th floor, the windows didn't seal properly and the underground trains sounded like they were going straight through the room. The decor also feels stuck in the 1980s, which doesn't add much comfort or a modern feel. The hotel has potential, but the noise, dated interiors, and limited breakfast selection had a real effect on how comfortable the stay was.
