The biggest problem was the one shared bathroom for four other rooms, despite the ad saying there were two. The host also didn’t respond, there was no way to make coffee, and we could hear other tenants in the hallway. On the plus side, we had a large balcony with city views, a comfy couch, TV, effective blackout shades, and a comfortable bed. We slept well and made breakfast in the kitchen. The location was good too, right next to a grocery store and several other nice places.

We booked a room with a private bathroom and were given one with a shared bathroom instead. The listing also didn’t match the room: there was no hairdryer, the fan didn’t work, and the window barely opened. Don’t be taken in by the “cozy” pictures on Agoda or other booking apps.

Mosquitoes kept me awake, and the room was unbearably hot without air conditioning. The pillows were rock-hard, the towel was stained, and the sink drain clogged as soon as I turned on the tap. When I messaged about the pillows on WhatsApp, they replied, “We offer standard pillows.” A one-night price of €119.33 with a 10 am checkout didn’t feel standard at all. Worst hotel experience of my life. My reservation said double room and showed a double bed, but I arrived to find a bunk bed. Since I checked in after 8 pm, I was charged €15 in cash.

The apartment worked well for our family of three, my wife, our 13-year-old daughter, and me. Our room was spacious, with a full-length closet and a bathroom with a toilet, bidet, and roomy shower. The shared kitchen was fully equipped and had a washing machine. It’s a wonderful base for seeing Barcelona, with the metro and buses about 500/600 meters away. Highly recommended.
