Sofitel Barcelona Skipper

The rooftop pool was great, and I slept better than ever on a hotel bed and pillow. The room also had lovely linens, soft towels, and excellent shower pressure. Front desk, bell, concierge, and breakfast staff were all warm and accommodating. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, though $90 USD with tip for two felt steep, even at a big city five-star hotel. The serious gap was service at the bar under the restaurant canopy. We went Tuesday night, Wednesday afternoon, and Wednesday night, and nobody checked on us during any of those visits. It was hard to get another round. On Wednesday night, only two people were in the restaurant and two at the bar, yet our wine glasses sat empty for over half an hour while four staff were inside. We finally went back to the room for a drink from the honor bar. Apart from that bar service, this is a five-star hotel in every way and worth the price.

The best part of our afternoon by Vila Olímpica was the service. Marc looked after us the whole time, was kind and professional, and made the experience special. He suggested cocktails we enjoyed, and the food was very good too. The terrace is beautiful and right by the beach. I'll be back with friends. Thanks so much, Marc!

My young family came to visit while I was working in Barcelona, and this hotel was just right for us. We could walk to both the beach and the busy city centre. The room felt fresh and modern, with plenty of space, a comfortable bed, and a sensible layout. Room service was quick and easy, breakfast was relaxed and high quality, and the rooftop pool was warm in late October, with great sea views. The bar was pleasant, with a good selection and quick service. We didn't eat at the restaurant, though it looked nice. We'll be back, and I'd feel confident booking Sofitel hotels elsewhere too. Gabriel deserves a special mention. He was often around reception and always greeted my daughter with a high five. A really sweet touch.

Annick was especially attentive in the mornings, and I'm grateful she added extra care to my day. The personal touches made the stay feel lovely, from the welcome snack and handwritten note in the room to the huge breakfast. They really know how to look after guests. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough, and I'm looking forward to coming back.
