Suites Avenue Luxe Apartments Barcelona

The gym was rather weak, but we loved our stay. The location was perfect, and the suites came fully equipped with a top-of-the-line kitchen. GREAT HOTEL!

We had a gorgeous view, and the staff were amazing, really accommodating, with no problems at all. Although it's right on Barcelona's main road, it was quiet and peaceful. Such a beautiful, unique hotel, within walking distance of so many important monuments and buildings.

The room itself was enormous, a stylishly decorated one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, dinner table, pull-out couch, and washer/dryer. After a month backpacking around Spain and staying in tiny hotel rooms, it was a welcome finale. The kitchenette had all the tools we needed, from a great manual citrus juicer to tongs and a colander. That's why the two stars are for the room. The customer service made all of that feel useless. There was only one person at the front desk at any hour, and requests for toiletries took at least 45 minutes, sometimes up to two hours. Halfway through our five-day stay, we were told housekeeping had to come in for a cleaning and inspection. We put off a busy sightseeing day so we could be there at the expected time, then waited three hours. Near the end, we called the front desk to ask where the housekeeper was. The same man who'd said earlier that her visit was "hotel policy" changed his explanation to say she just wanted to clean before our stay ended. When she finally arrived, she threw away the toiletries we'd bought at a store and left on the bathroom counter, including toothpaste and contact lens solution. At checkout we told the older man at the desk what had happened. He was dismissive and indifferent. Don't stay here.

One of my favorite places to stay. It's calm, clean, and worth the price.
