A few practical things first: the apartment has a double bed and a sofa bed, plus a small balcony that’s really only useful as a window. There are curtains and a metal security gate outside. Storage is limited to small shelves and a little clothes rail, and the sofa bed may be hard on your back for stays longer than two or three nights. We were four and hoped to cook and eat there, but there’s no proper dining table or chairs, just a coffee table and two armchair-style seats. We made do with breakfast and simple dinners, though there weren’t many plates or pieces of cutlery. It’s also dim for working, and the sofa is the most comfortable spot, so you’d have your laptop on your lap. The apartment is cute, but that comes at the expense of comfort. The location is a real plus, about a five-minute walk from Llacuna metro station in Poble Nou. Check-in through the Sweet Inn Android app was very easy, and customer service was prompt and helpful. There was one set of keys in the apartment, and the doors can be locked with keys or a mechanical lock built into the lock. A Nespresso machine and several capsules were provided, along with four chilled half-liter bottles of water. A 24-hour mini-market is next door, as is a Condis supermarket, and there are cafes and a few bars and restaurants nearby. By the metro station there’s also a cafe where you can work remotely. There’s air conditioning, though we didn’t use it, and you can take the elevator or stairs. We were on the first floor. I’d suggest it for a short visit, especially if two people are fine with the sofa bed.

People renting apartments in Barcelona’s Mas de Roda passage keep waking the neighbors in the early hours with shouting and loud music. It feels like nobody is supervising what’s going on.

The place is nice and well located, but sleep was a problem because the neighbors had odd, very noisy visitors.
