Yurbban Passage Hotel & Spa

You step out through an underpass and are straight into the Gothic Quarter, so the location is hard to beat. The spa facilities were unreal, breakfast was really good, and the room had everything we needed. Service and food were spot on for a hotel in this category. I’d definitely stay here again when I visit Barcelona.

The complimentary wine and cheese hour was a lovely surprise, and the breakfast spread was a highlight. I was pleased with my stay overall: the hotel felt warm and stylish, and the staff were excellent. One letdown was the breakfast coffee. The choices were just filter or pod coffee, and my request for a cappuccino from the barista machine was declined. I’d expect decent coffee at breakfast from a hotel of this calibre. Still thoroughly recommend it, and I plan to return.

The reception team really made the stay for us. They were welcoming and professional at any time of day, and handled every request with care and a genuine smile. The breakfast was fresh, delicious, and had plenty to choose from; the breakfast staff were just as attentive and made sure we had what we needed each morning. Our room was comfortable and felt like a quiet refuge after exploring the city. The hotel is beautiful, with a style that feels both sophisticated and cozy, and the cleanliness was impeccable. As a Local Guide who visits plenty of hotels, I found Yurban Passage Hotel & Spa stood out from the moment we arrived until checkout. For luxury, comfort, and such thoughtful service in Barcelona, I’d highly recommend it.

The hotel looks beautiful, modern, and well located, but the service didn’t meet what we expected from a place in this category. We booked mainly for the advertised spa, with its pool, sauna, and steam bath, especially since we knew one day would be rainy. The 30-minute daily limit wasn’t made clear when booking. Once, while we were already in the sauna, we were told to leave after about 15 minutes. The next day we were told we could stay longer, but were asked to leave again after roughly 30 minutes. We couldn’t properly enjoy a facility that’s promoted so heavily. There’s also a visible camera pointed toward the sauna. The possibility of being filmed while undressed made us extremely uncomfortable and felt inappropriate in a wellness area. Back in our room, the TV was largely unusable: just two of more than 40 channels worked, and we couldn’t connect Netflix. The property looks great, but several important services didn’t work as expected. Future guests should know about the spa time limits and the camera in the sauna area before booking.
