The rooms are huge, each with its own bathroom, and the hostel was spotless. It’s a great base for exploring Genal, between Ronda and Estepona, or for getting a feel for a small Spanish village. There are two good, inexpensive bars and a little shop for basics. In summer, the municipal pool is just a short walk away. This is the most spacious hostel I’ve stayed in, and I’d highly recommend it.

The shared spaces are particularly nice, and checking in was easy with the self check-in. Our large double room had a comfortable bed, plenty of storage, and a window looking onto the square. Everything was immaculate and felt very modern. It’s a shame the outdoor terrace was locked, that would have made this a five-star stay. There’s no kitchen or utensils, though a microwave and fridge were available, including one in our room. There are places to eat in town, and two small shops with basic supplies.

The covered breakfast terrace has spectacular views. The town was so quiet, it was easy to switch off and get away from everything without being disturbed. Everything was clean and tidy.
