Photo Zabalburu Hotel

Breakfast was very basic. The room had an unbearable, strong smoke smell, even though smoking is strictly forbidden. I have a breathing problem, so I told the desk officer and asked to move rooms. He said the hotel was fully booked and couldn't do it. When I asked him to call the hotel director, he told me, "he is sleeping." I asked for a partial refund and was only handed a form to fill out. Not recommended. I STILL WANT MY REFUND!!!

We only stayed one night, and there was little to complain about. The room and bathroom were spacious, and all the equipment, including the TV and AC, worked perfectly. Staff were consistently friendly, and at check-in the receptionist pointed out the main city attractions. The one uncomfortable thing was the heat. The room has a strong heating system that you can't control from inside. It came on twice, both times making the room so hot that we opened the window and set the AC to maximum. Our window looked onto other buildings, which didn't bother me, but anyone wanting a nicer view should ask when booking.

At around 100 euros a night, this was an outrageous experience. The walls are so thin you hear every noise from next door, even the neighbor snoring. One of the worst hotel stays I've had. Never again!

It's fine if all you need is a place to sleep for the night, and the staff are helpful. Across the road there's a car park with good parking and cameras for 21 euros. The hotel's own car park is about 16 euros.
