Susi, the owner, is wonderful and makes you feel completely at ease. El Querol Vell is a unique little boutique hotel, with just seven rooms in a beautifully renovated old Masia, furnished with antiques and all sorts of charming details. The large gardens have lots of quiet, tucked-away spots where you can enjoy the incredible food. Breakfast comes with the room and is marvellous, and dinner is excellent too if you choose to have it. There’s beautiful countryside all around for long walks, plus little villages and other places to explore. I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s worth making the trip for a stay of a few days, or even just one night, to unwind and enjoy somewhere special.

We’d love to return. The rooms are lovely and date from the 14th century. The host made our stay really nice, and this calm mountain spot is great if you need to relax. It’s not remote, either. It’s in a small, cozy village with friendly people.

The hosts were so welcoming and kind, with a sense of hospitality that goes well beyond just being a receptionist. The house feels like it belongs to another century, but has all the modern amenities while keeping its old auberge charm. It had a real homey feel. Best bed and breakfast ever. Do stay here, 101% recommended!
