The staff were great and helped us learn about the region’s history and how to make the most of our time there. Breakfast was up there with five-star hotels, and ran until noon. There’s free parking in front, plus an excellent wine cellar and restaurant where you can enjoy a glass in the Rioja sun. The hotel is part of Marriott Autograph Collection, right in the heart of Briñas on the Ebro. Its carefully put-together atmosphere makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive. The hotel itself is nice, but the service fell short. We’d booked a premium room with a river view and were given one with water damage. The heating also wasn’t working properly, and the room was 28.5 degrees at night. We raised the problems, but the hotel offered no solution and only gave us a piece of chocolate. Pretty disappointing ☹️.

The walk down into the wine cellar is extraordinary. The hotel is beautiful, set in a lovely village inside a historic building. It’s been updated and feels comfortable, with lovely views of the river.

The room was spacious, with a huge comfortable bed, and the terrace was a lovely spot for a drink. The hotel and decor are stunning, and the staff were attentive and very polite. The evening meal at the restaurant is a must. We’ll come again.

We got such a warm welcome, even at 1 a.m., and they’d prepared food for us, which is rare to find in a hotel. The breakfast was excellent too. Very grateful that Marriott is around and keeps such high standards. Thank you!
