Hotel Las Salinas Cabo De Gata

The view is fabulous, but we can’t say anything else positive about this place, and we usually like to be complimentary about places we visit. We haven’t stayed at the hotel, so can’t comment on it. Restaurante Morales, though, fell short in every way we experienced: food, quality, service, and prices. Our order was muddled, we were overcharged, the food was poor quality and frozen, and the service was shoddy. As the photos show, a ration of "calamares fritos" costs €25 and "pata de pulpo" is €30 for one octopus tentacle, which works out to €240 per octopus. That’s very expensive by local standards. The menu listed Nestea, which wasn’t actually Nestea, at €3, but we were charged €3.50. We were first told they’d run out of our first choice, ox tail croquettes, so we ordered ham croquettes instead. It turned out they didn’t have enough ham ones either, and they substituted chicken croquettes for the rest. Then they charged us for two half rations, €2 more than a full ration, even though everything came on the same plate. A complete shambles at best. When you’re in La Almadraba de Monteleva, I suggest trying Bar-Restaurante Las Orillas Del Mar a few doors down instead.
