Albergue las Veletas

The location in the old part of the city seemed perfect, interesting, and quite safe. The room was nice and spacious, the beds were quite nice too, though they creaked when we moved around, and the bathroom looked good. On arrival, a fairly old man greeted us. He was really friendly, even though he didn't speak any English. A little patience and a translation app worked wonders. The check-in process felt outdated, with a paper form for details like our names, phone number, address, and passport number, but then he gave us the room keys pretty quickly. I didn't have high hopes at first, but so far it has actually been good.

There are the essentials for a hostel, but it isn't well maintained. The shared dorms are cramped and upkeep has been poor. One bedroom bulb needs replacing, and most of the soap and shampoo dispensers in the bathroom and shower were nearly empty. There's a microwave on the ground floor. It would be great if they also provided tea or coffee.

I got bitten all over by bed bugs at the albergue. Stay away if you can. There was no hot water in the shower when I arrived. The receptionist said the boiler had been broken since the day before, but she didn't do anything to fix it. I also paid for laundry and one of my socks went missing. Totally careless.

The guy working at the hostel was such a bad person. He treated my family so badly and acted like a crazy person. Never going back.
