Don Carlos Cáceres

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was very friendly. Breakfast was a good continental-style meal. Nice hotel.

The staff at the Don Carlos were a real highlight, friendly, professional, helpful, and accommodating. It felt like they wanted me to be happy with the hotel and have the best stay possible. I booked directly with the hotel, which was easy. I didn’t reserve breakfast because I don’t tend to eat that early, so I can’t comment on it. I spent six delightful nights there. My room had a balcony and street view, was clean and quiet, and had a very comfortable bed. The public spaces were lovely too, with artwork and furnished places to sit, and thoughtful details that kept an essence of the past. The price was very reasonable for the quality. There are lots of restaurants, shops, and cafes just a couple of minutes away on foot. The Plaza Mayor and main gate to the World Heritage Monumental City are maybe a 7-to-10 minute stroll, and the city is simply amazing. Cáceres and the province are wonderful, and I plan to return time and again. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when I’m in Cáceres.

You’re allowed to drive up to the hotel even though it’s in a car-restricted area, and the staff explain how to reach the nearby parking, about a three-minute walk away. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops close by. The location is right in the center, five minutes on foot from the plaza Mayor and entrance to the old city. Staff are very friendly. For a 2-star hotel, the rooms are good, clean, and have enough space, though you can hear a little noise from neighbors. Parts of the bathroom, including the toilet and washstand, looked recently renewed.

The hostesses were extremely helpful, and the service was excellent, beyond what I expected. The decoration and atmosphere have an elegant historical feel in every corner, but the place is still very cosy. Breakfast was really nice compared with what you can get at outside cafes. An excellent choice when staying in Cáceres!
