We spent three nights here in March 2026 and paid about 18 euros a night with ACSI. We had a good stay at Camping Caceres and would happily return. The pitches are fairly level, with shade at most of them. Each has a private toilet, basin, shower, and potable water, plus an outside sink in a small amenity block. There’s also a little table and two chairs at every pitch. Reception staff were very welcoming, helpful, and full of good advice. The small shop carries basic supplies. There’s a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner; we didn’t eat there, though it looked fine. It’s easy to get into Caceres by bus or bike. Supermarkets, McDonalds, Decathlon, and other large shops on the outskirts are also easy to reach. We enjoyed exploring the old town, especially its Game of Thrones connections, and there are plenty of shops, cafes, and restaurants in the newer part of town too.

We stopped here on a recommendation while driving north from Cadiz toward Santander. It’s well signposted and just a five-minute drive from the main highway. Check-in was simple, and the staff were very helpful. There’s a small on-site restaurant serving good, simple meals cooked to order. Every pitch has its own toilet and shower, which is superb.

Each pitch has its own nearby private hut with a toilet, toilet rolls, hot shower, and washbasin. There’s also an outside tap, hookup, light, table, and two chairs. It sounds unbelievable, but it’s true. We paid 21 Euros with ACSI, and the fourth night was free. Reliable WiFi and 16-amp electricity were included, which helped keep us warm. The young man at reception gave us a very warm welcome beside the blazing log fire. He was full of information and handed us a leaflet with the restaurant menu, bus timetable, and a map of Caceres centre. He also found us a quiet spot at this 129-pitch campsite, which is open all year. The restaurant has a ‘Camper Menu’ with one choice from each of three courses, bread, and a drink for 20 Euros. We also tried a takeaway pizza. Azure-winged Magpies were around the trees and on the ground near our motorhome. They’re native to southern Spain and Portugal, with distant relatives only in far eastern Asia. There’s a regular bus into Caceres, or you can take the excellent new cycle path after crossing the dual carriageway outside the campsite. The route is part of the 10650 km (6,656 mile) European Atlantic Coast cycle route (EuroVelo1), but it isn’t signposted. We found it difficult to work out how to reach Caceres’s impressive medieval centre, a UNESCO-listed site built over extensive earlier Roman occupation.

A fun little campsite, with a large pool and spacious grounds at a reasonable price. Some pitches are small, though, so we went back to reception and asked to move. That was no problem at all. Most of the reception girls were lovely, except for one grumpy one we couldn’t get to smile. The pitches are unusual and rather nice, with your own little shower and toilet. The shop has all the essentials, and the bus stop across the road takes you straight into town. The old town, Plaza Major, and the surrounding area are well worth seeing. We went on a Monday when all the buses were free, though we’ve no idea why. We took up the offer of four days for the price of three to recharge our batteries before the long drive down to the coast. We enjoyed the site and would stay again when travelling through Spain.

I was cycle camping and would stay here again. It’s a very good site, with level individual pitches, each equipped with a mini toilet and shower, a table, chairs, and an outside light. There’s also a shop and restaurant.
