Hotel Playa Sol

I've stayed at places that were fancier and places that cost less, but none have been as consistently good at what they do. The rooms are lovely, the pool is fine, and the staff are always around without making a fuss, unfailingly pleasant. I'm irritable and hard to please, and this place got everything right. People wonder whether it's child friendly. Our three took an hour or so to settle into the calm atmosphere and needed a reminder once or twice during the week. Other families seemed to manage the same way, and all was good. If you want to run around noisily, it probably won't suit, but we didn't find the place uptight at all. Thank you.

We had a lovely bay view from a room that was just right. The staff were welcoming, very friendly and spoke good English. I'd happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had a lovely five-night stay in many ways. The location is ideal, there's private garage parking, and the rooms are beautifully designed. Breakfast was delicious, including fresh fruit juice, and the bar and reception staff were very friendly. We did find the hotel less suitable for children, especially around the pool. Kids weren't allowed to jump in, and even gentle splashing didn't seem welcome. On our fourth day, our three-year-old had a brief tantrum. My husband quickly took him back to the room, but the owner still came over to ask what was wrong and said we were disturbing other guests. After that, we didn't feel entirely comfortable. I later tried to discuss it constructively, but the conversation wasn't well received. I think the hotel could explain expectations for children more clearly and be more open to guest feedback. I'd recommend it to couples or adults looking for a peaceful stay, though perhaps less to families with young children.

The only pleasant part of our stay was the receptionist, who was genuinely friendly and helpful. We were given a gift certificate from petit hotels de Catalunya, and this was the only hotel in Cadaqez they had. Since the hotel requires a two-night minimum, they sold us a triple room for 370 euros per night even though there were only two of us. It had no balcony, and the windows looked straight at a wall. The breakfast was basic, and I was very disappointed. In my view, the hotel doesn't deserve four stars.
